10th China Anti-Corruption Compliance Summit 2017

Partner Brian Burke (New York/Shanghai-Litigation) spoke at the 10th Advanced China Summit on Anti-Corruption on October 26 in Shanghai.

Brian was invited by the organizer to give the opening remarks to kick off the two day conference. Brian, along with the other panelists, addressed the following issues at the “Self-Reporting and Cooperating With Regulators in China and Beyond” panel in the afternoon.

The Belt and Road: “Rules of the Road”

Partners Brian Burke (New York/Shanghai-Litigation), Nils Eliasson (Hong Kong-International Arbitration) and Emmanuel Jacomy (Beijing-International Arbitration) hosted the Belt and Road seminar at The Langham Shanghai Xintiandi Hotel in Shanghai, China on June 13. The seminar focused on the legal and operational risks that may arise in reaching the markets along the Belt and Road initiative.

9th Advanced China Summit on Anti-Corruption

Partner Brian Burke (Hong Kong/China-Litigation) is speaking at the 9th Advanced China Summit on Anti-Corruption hosted by the American Conference Institute on June 15-16 in Shanghai, China.

Burke is moderating a panel discussion on “Internal Investigations Think Tank: Senior In-House Counsel Discuss How to Effectively Structure the Investigation.” He will be joined by speakers from Microsoft, Marriott International and Pfizer.

Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation – Special Institute on Human Rights Law and the Extractive Industries

Partner Danforth Newcomb (New York-Anti-Corruption & Foreign Corrupt Practices Act) will lead a discussion titled “Advising Clients Doing Business During a Corruption Investigation:  A Simulation and Review of Ethical Considerations” at the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation’s Special Institute on Human Rights Law and the Extractive Industries in Panama City on February 19.
